On a cold January evening in 1891 a condemned man was led slowly back to his cell for the very last time the night before his execution.

As he slept two men a priest and a catacast prayed over.

The do man woke up ate a good meal savoring every bite and minutes before 7 a.m. he was baptized in the hopes of eternal salvation.

Just before 8 a.m. the hangman arrived at the door of the man's cell.

He submitted without complaint and filed into the procession that headed toward the gallows.
