Now, I'm letting Jack take over. It's just after 9am on the 13th of February 2017, Kuala Lumpur International Airport's Terminal 2,

had settled in to the steady rhythm of a Monday morning.

The air's cool from the central air conditioning, with the concourse buzzed with a low hum,

boarding announcements echoing overhead, the squeak of rubber wheels on tiled floors,

and the occasional hiss of an espresso machine from a row of

coffee kiosks that line the check-in areas. Among the travellers is a tall, heavy-set man in a grey

blazer and khaki trousers. He moves without any invisible security detail, willing a small carry-on and

carrying a black satchel across his chest. His passport identified him as Kim Chol, a 46-year-old

North Korean citizen, booked on Air Asia Flight AK-832 to Macau.
