I'm Laura Whitmore, broadcaster, performer, chancer and podcast lover.

I first started getting into podcasts when I was training for a half marathon.

Now I'd never ran before except for the bus or away from responsibility.

And as much as I love music, and I mean I love music, just a three or four minute song

meant I was counting songs over the distance, and it made the

run feel longer. That's when podcasts saved me. I've been on a mission to get my next fix of

podcasts of recommendations. Every week, I'll be talking about all things podcasts, but people who

love podcasts, many of whom have podcasts themselves. Many times can I say podcasts in one sentence?

I reckon a few more.

So whether you're looking for podcasts about mental health or comedy, love, crime,

or your next fictional series to binge listen to,

my guests have got you covered.

You may also be surprised by what some folk are listening to.

And from that, a springboard into some really interesting discussions. Someone's at our front door. Oh, were they? Yeah. I imagine that on a podcast. Someone's ringing on a front door. We've got that ring thing. We're the most millennial couple of all time. We're doing a podcast together and we've got our camera on our front door.

Well, it's sort of like being part of someone's conversation. You feel included. I suppose with the same way that radio happens, but it's completely ungoverned. So each person chooses whether

they advertise or not, what they talk about or not. You know, there is no limits to your discussion and it's a total free speech.

The feeling you get after listening to a decent podcast, it feels similar enough to what it feels

like if you've just meditated or if you've just had a bath or a shower, it's peace.

It gives us a little hour of peace and I think that's why people like them.
