In jail, there's no, it's not paranoia it's awareness

I came from most likely one of the worst jails in New South Wales and when I was

there you treated like an animal.

There's no level of respect.

They treat like an inmate, you treat them off an officer.

That's it.

So what happens is, it's very difficult to become something else.

A mate of mine once told me they breed animals in prison. His name was Bernie Matthews and he was an armed robber.

He used to go into the banks, stick guns in people's faces, and then get them to fill up bags with cash.

He and I became friends only after I left the cops.

We'd meet up for beers and Bernie would tell me about the prison beatings he received,
