There are many, many people in prison who are not guilty and yet they're just not getting

relief.

My belief is that the jury got this right.

Regardless of the fact that I was innocent of this, I still was paying for things that I

had done.

At least find out if this person is innocent and is in there wrongfully.

If somebody comes up and confesses to a crime that somebody else are even convicted for,

they don't open the jail and let him out.

her free time counseling prison inmates.

But in 1987 in the town of Newport, Kentucky, Ritha Welch became best known as a murder victim.

It was somewhat horrifying to see the state that she was in.

She was found dead.

She was in a bathtub filled with her blood.

She had been bludgeoned.

The corner believes she was raped and just left to die.

There are very few things that have rocked my world so to speak.

That was one of them.

I suspect emerged within days and the next year a felon Ritha had met in prison was

tried and found guilty.

Twenty-eight years later his conviction would be overturned.
