Just passing through desk right now.

My plan is when it gets good and dark,

and it's clearly nighttime.

I'm going to make my way up to the woods,

and I'm going to take a forest path

down to a little secluded bay beach here in Everness, near the Point Rays National

Seashore.

I have never hiked alone at night before. My worst fears are actually coming across ill-intentioned people.

I was telling this to a friend earlier today, and she mentioned mountain lines and I was like

fuck I didn't even think about Mountain Lines.

So I started thinking about Mountain Lines.

And I did my due diligence.

I called the Point Rays Park Ranger.

And I asked her.

I told her what I was going to do. and I said, what are my chances of being attacked by a mountain lion?

She seemed reasonably sure that that was not going to happen.

But if it did, she gave me some advice, which is also on the website for Point

Rays National Park. Get big, get loud, throw rocks nearer the mountain lion.

And if that doesn't work start throwing the rocks at the mountain

lion so I'm sitting in this dark cabin there's no electricity there's no

anything here and I'm going to pretty soon walk to my car and drive down to this deserted
