Tonight on into the Frei, I'm speaking to David Pilides,

and if you are not familiar with him,

he has been entangled in a phenomena for years and he writes the missing

for one series. If you haven't touched one of his books, I highly recommend

before you read his newest one, A Sobering Coincidence, pick up one of the prior books.

is much more prevalent than we thought.

I am very honored to have him on tonight to talk about one of my favorite mysteries.

Dave, I would be remiss if I didn't start off by asking you what started you researching this topic and a little about your professional background in case there are some folks out there that don't know. So I spent

20 years in law enforcement in California in a municipal law enforcement

capacity. I work detectives, street crimes, SWAT team, merge, Vice Intelligence, almost all specialized units while I was there.

After that I went on to, at a master's degree in HR, I went on and worked in a series of technology jobs in Silicon Valley.

And then after that I tried to retire, got pulled back in again and I was at a National Park doing some peripheral research on another topic. Some park rangers were

following me around. At the end of the day I had a knock on the door of the place I was staying

outside the park. One of the park r was staying outside the park.
