I'm Sam Sanders and you are listening to Intuit from Vulture and New York magazine, and

we're going to talk today about what happens to child stars after the childhood stardom.

For many of them, we know the path, there's some big artistic shifts to indicate that

they're an adult now, and then there's bigger fame and even more money in adulthood.

When there are the ones who run away from their stardom entirely, disappear from the

public eye and just live a quieter life.

But there was one former child star that I'm kind of obsessed with right now who has

found a third way.

Her name was Christy Carlson Romano and she's made a career out of talking about what

it was like to be a child star and what comes after.

If you're around my age, you might remember the Disney stuff Christy starred in.

There was this one Disney show called Even Stevens.

So family sitcom, all about this really rambunctious kid, and his more even-killed sister.

Had a very young child above, and it had Christy Carlson Romano playing Shia's older sister,

Rin Stevens.

It's like my dad always says, good, better, best, never stop to rest, until the good is

better and the better best.

She was smart and full of opinions and the perfect foil to Shia's character.

She was also just really fun to watch.

So Christy didn't just play Rin Stevens on that show.

She also voiced Kim on Disney's Kim Possible.

And before all the Disney stuff, Christy also performed in musicals all over the country.
