Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Next Best Picture podcast where I am really excited to be highlighting one of the most celebrated cinematographers of 2025 Academy Award nominee Adolfo Veloso, everyone. Hello, man. Good to be talking to you. It's good to be talking to you too, man.

I say, I'm a big fan, so glad to be here. I really appreciate that. And we're a big fan of your work on train dreams.

And of course, your work before with Clint Bentley on Jockey, I remember was a standout

for many of us as well a couple of years ago.

I want to kind of go back a little bit further, though, than this.

Can you tell me about just your earliest memories growing up in Brazil, first time you

picked up a camera, what made you decide you wanted to work in this field?

Well, I think I kind of loved movies since a really early age.

I remember the first movie I saw that really impacted me was Clockcooked Orange, Stanley Kubrick's,

which I watched when I was like, I don't know, 12 years old. Not sure it's advisable to do that

when you were 12 years old, but definitely not. That happens somehow, I don't know, and that really

impacted me in a way that I kind of started to like search for other movies.
