Summary

Shannon Taggart is an American photographer and artist known for her work exploring themes of spirituality, mysticism, and the supernatural. She is particularly recognized for her book Séance which documents the practice of Spiritualism, a religious movement that believes in the possibility of communication with the spirits of the dead. Although she originally began as an artist with no interest in the paranormal, Taggart's fascination with Spiritualism began in 2001 when she started photographing in Lily Dale, New York, a town known for its psychic community.
