Hey, I'm Chris Cuomo. Welcome to Primetime. We're live from Washington, DC. And I have to say this has been the biggest day yet.

And the bulk of testimony that calls the president's defense and his defenders into question came from a witness Republicans wanted to testify.

We also can't lose sight of the big testimony that happened this morning. Also, it's good to have analysts and experts and we do.

But I also have two big players here tonight, a Democrat who had one of the biggest moments of the day. And we're going to bring in a Republican player in the house to test their side of it. Let's get after it.

All right. Four first hand witnesses means they saw they heard that's how they know they've just raised the impeachment stakes Republicans may now be starting to regret calling two of them, particularly the former US envoy to Ukraine, Kurt Volker. Here's a taste of why.

But the accusation that vice president Biden acted inappropriately did not seem at all credible to me. Marjorie, on he raised an eye rejected the conspiracy theory that vice president Biden would have been influenced in his duties as vice president by money paid to his son.

He is an honorable man and I hold him in the highest regard.

Now, he has an interesting spin, Mr. Volker, that when he was talking about barisma, the company that had Hunter Biden on its board, which is no question controversial decision.

All eyes were also on a purple heart recipient this morning who was forced to fight back against Republican smears on his loyalty, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman.

In his opening, he thanked his father for moving his family here from the Soviet Union when he was just a child. And reassured his father, don't worry, I'll be fine. I'm telling the truth in America. And then this powerful follow.

And why do you have confidence that you can do that and tell your dad not to worry?

Congressman, because this is America, this is the country I've served and defended, that all of my brothers have served and here, right matters.

Not a lot of applause in that room today. It was something left right and reasonable could all hold on to with meaning.

So going after witness credibility is always an aspect of any confrontational setting, but to go after a guy wearing a purple heart.

And then to bring in his superior Morrison to suggest he went outside the chain of command, what did that mean to you as a tactic? That Vindman isn't just the uniform, he may have ulterior motives.

It means they couldn't talk about the substance of what he said.

If you notice the Republicans didn't lay a glove on him about any of the substantive testimony he gave, which is that he heard the president say something wrong.
