Welcome to the Scriptures Are Real podcast.

I'm your host, Keri Mulesstein, and this is a podcast where we just talk about things that have made the scriptures come to life for us, times when the scriptures have become real, with the idea that when they are more real, they apply to our lives better. We love them more. We can, in times of struggle or challenge, remember, hey, I know that these are real and turn to them again and draw power out of them.

So plus, it's just good fun to talk about things that have helped the scriptures become more powerful and real for us.

So my guest today is a friend I've had for a long time.

You'll have to correct me, Rebecca, if I am wrong on this.

But I think I first met Rebecca when she was a student in Jerusalem back in 2010, I think.

Does that seem right?

Yes.

So she was studying in Jerusalem and I was teaching at the Jerusalem Center.

And we've been friends ever since.

She became friends with my family.

We were enthralled by her beautiful singing and by her teaching.

I still remember, I think, the first time I met you, you were teaching gospel doctrine class in the Jerusalem Center.

And in the audience was Kent Jackson, Kent Brown, Jeff Chadwick, myself, Frank Judd.

So she had like five or six religion teachers in the audience.

And I thought that must be intimidating. And she just stood up and taught the most amazing lesson, and I knew

we had someone that was worth getting to know right then. Rebecca is a graduate student right

now, just working on her dissertation. I'll let her tell you a little bit more about that and about

herself. So welcome, Rebecca, and her tell you a little bit more about that and about herself.

Thank you. It's great to be here. I am a PhD candidate working on my dissertation at Claremont
