This is something that was brought up during my episode about the real secretaries of Agatha Christie

with a listener guest co-host Helen Frank.

Helen and I posed a mystery to all of you that we needed help solving, and that had to do with the

dedication of third girl. That book, like a handful of Christie's novels, is dedicated to a secretary, to

Nora Blackbroe, who was one of Edmund Cork's secretaries. She handled permissions for

Christie titles, a very busy job. And we noted that somehow over time, Nora Blackbrough's

name had morphed into Nora Blackmore. And it wasn't just her last name

that changed from Blackbro to Blackmore. Her first name acquired an H somehow. It went from N-O-R-A to

N-O-R-A-H. And as far as we could tell, Nora Blackbrod never got married, so it's not as though she
