China was the good guys in World War II no I thought Japan attacked China killed millions of Chinese people I'm confused why China didn't end up being an ally of ours instead

of somehow being this global threat that we see it as today. Am I wrong that China

was actually actually a victim of old war two?

Oh, it certainly was.

You had the nationalist government of Shankai Shek.

They were fighting two enemies at the same time,

the Japanese and the communists of Mao Zedong.

And Shen Khaihek was weakened.

Also, he lost support in Washington because many people were very hopeful

that Mao would turn out to be a Democrat. That of course did not happen.

Totally unrealistic but that's what the American political establishment thought at the

time. So they undermined Shankai Shek and we got the communist as a result.

Was Mao some guy sort of like Chavez in Venezuela that he was very slick because Chavez

convinced everybody he was a good guy too and he wasn't he was a really bad guy was now very was I've never seen him speak I don't know much about him other than what I went to China he's everywhere

Was he somebody who was almost like Hitler in that he was able to convince the population?

Well he was very good at that. I mean he was

charismatic and indeed his death toll far exceeds Hitler's.
