| 0:37.0 | Well, let me start with why it's so important. These companies absolutely are in control of our |
| 0:43.1 | political system, and they are dangerous. They're the most powerful force on earth that we've ever |
| 0:50.0 | seen outside of any government. And I have to tell you, I am really concerned about what their |
| 0:57.9 | values are when I see them interact with communist China. I'm concerned about how they |
| 1:03.6 | operate in the United States. And after an 18-month investigation, it was clear that these companies are crushing competition |
| 1:14.0 | and censoring conservatives. And so there are six bills. And these six bills really take a scalpel |
| 1:20.2 | to a very small piece of our economy. It's not a chainsaw approach that is going to have an impact, and we've done our |
| 1:30.6 | very best to make sure that there are no unintended consequences on the airline industry, |
| 1:35.7 | the financial services sector and other parts of our economy. But the first bill gives the |
| 1:43.7 | Federal Trade Commission and the Antitrust division at the Department |
| 1:48.1 | of Justice more resources by raising the filing fees on the most expensive mergers and acquisitions. |
