Summary

Justin Hurwitz has in a short amount of time, through his collaborations with Damien Chazelle on "La La Land" and "First Man," made a huge impact on the cinematic landscape with his memorable film scores for both movies. An Oscar-winner for the former and now, recently shortlisted for this year's Oscar for the later, the 33 year old composer was kind enough to chat with us about his work on "First Man" and take us into his creative process behind one of the year's most celebrated film scores. 1:53.4

naturally do and are probably inclined to do at least speaking as a composer or or speaking for

1:59.2

myself which is to privately make music and music. And now it's a lot of

2:04.9

talking to people and, you know, out at events with people, which is not normally what I do

2:12.0

on a daily basis when I'm actually working. It's very much the opposite. But it's fun to sort of be back in the world
