Summary

Roger Deakins is one of the all-time great cinematographers. The recipient of two Academy Awards for his work on "Blade Runner 2049" and "1917," he has given us timeless images and visual masterpieces ranging from "The Shawshank Redemption" to "Skyfall." His latest work on "Empire Of Light" reunites him with director Sam Mendes for a fourth time, and he received his sixteenth Oscar nomination for the film a few weeks ago. The film can currently be streamed on HBO Max. Roger was kind enough to spend some time talking with us about his work on the film, working with Sam, how important the location was for this particular shoot, and more.
