Hi, and welcome to the Scriptures or Real podcast, where we talk about times that the

scriptures became real to us and brought more power into our lives as a result.

I'm your host, Carrie Milstein, and I'm really excited about our guest today.

Today we're going to visit with Dr. Philip Allred, or Phil Allred, who is at BYU, Idaho, was recently the department chair there.

And I know Phil from some assignments we had together

and so on, but the place where I really came to know in Love Field is as we taught together

at the Jerusalem Center, BYU Jerusalem Center in Jerusalem, where we really just became brothers

and you have such a wonderful opportunity to really get to know someone there.

And I already suspected, but I came to know fully what a man of God, Phil, is.

My whole family feels the same way.

I don't know anyone who is better at teaching the teachings of the prophets

and incorporating them into scripture study. He knows the scriptures well, but he's just

a good, good man, and I admire and love being with him. So welcome, Phil.
