I've been seeing the word "Recession" a lot in the news and I have several people ask me about it in terms of buying or selling a house. So I took the opportunity to call up Matthew Gardner, the Chief Economist for Windermere. 0:25.1	recession here in the United States. Now that freaked me out a little bit because in the
0:29.5	2008 great recession I got kicked in the gut pretty hard.
0:35.0	And I know a lot worse than other people.
0:37.5	I was very fortunate in a lot of ways.
0:39.5	But it impacted my 401k a lot.
0:43.5	Also the housing situation I was in at the time got impacted a lot.
0:47.9	It really disrupted my life.
0:49.3	And so when I started seeing headlines pop up again in news stories like 70% or over 70% of all economists are saying
0:58.1	we are headed for a recession that got my attention I was like holy cow what is going on and then I thought you know what I really don't know exactly
1:06.6	What this means I don't know exactly how our recession works and so now that I'm working for a wind amir
1:12.4	We have a full-time economist on staff here in the Pacific Northwest.
1:17.0	It's the only real estate company I hear locally and maybe even a lot bigger region than that that has a chief economist and so I called him up his
1:24.6	name is Matthew Gardner he works right in downtown Seattle I said hey Matthew can
1:29.1	I come over and interview you you tell me the basics of a recession what you think this one is going to look like
1:35.9	and especially what's it going to do to the Pacific Northwest and then more
1:41.1	specifically what's it going to do to housing in the Pacific Northwest?
