Welcome back to Hot Takes and Deep Dives. This is Jess and I am here with a very special and unique guest. I'm here with Dr. Javier Amador, most known to you guys as Dr.

Amador, aka Bethany's therapist from Bethany Ever After, Real Housewives of New York.

You even, I was doing some research, you even contributed to her book on relationships?

That's right.

And I know that you were also a guest on her talk show. Yeah. Yeah. So how have you been like what have you been up to I guess the last time we saw you on the show was around 2015 season 7 of Real Housewives of New York when

Bethany had come back to Housewives after her spin-off and her talk show so I

guess maybe just catch me up. What have you been doing?

Well the biggest thing that happened is I adopted three children and moved to the

East End of Long Island. So that is wonderful a new chapter that was in my life.

It sort of closed the chapter with Bethany. I wasn't able to continue to see her in Manhattan at that point.

I continue to write books. I've written a number of books and the

last one published is called I'm Not Sick, I Don't Need Help, and what I've been up to is running a nonprofit training people

all over the country and how to engage people who are addicted to substances or

alcohol how to engage people who have bipolar disorder and other

mental illnesses

uh... engaged them in treatment and accepting health

you adopted three children

i did as a single parent. As a single parent. Yeah, some people said I was crazy. What were the

ages at the time you adopted them?

My daughter was 13 and my two sons were 11 and 8.

They're now 21, 19, and 16.
