After one of the most turbulent political years in living memory, Westminster has thankfully taken

a break over Christmas, and so have we too. Brexit is shuffling

towards completion but with not much else on the agenda now seems a good moment to

look back and take some perspective and to do that I'm delighted be joined by our second special

guest James Blitz who as regular listeners of the podcast we know is our

Wightore editor. He joined the FT in 1988 and has served as economics reporter, political editor, defense editor, worked

to Broden Rome, Moscow, he's also been a leader writer and finally Whitehall editor and

for those eager eyes has written the Brexit briefing email

which is a very popular FT photo for the past three years and after 28 continuous

years at the organisation Mr Blitz is moving on to new things so now seemed a good time to look back at his memories,

recollections and thoughts on British politics James.
