So I am an assistant professor at the University of Texas at Austin in the Department of Radio Television Film.

bit about your relationship to sports. I love to ask people this. So did you or do you play sports? Are you a

big sports fan? How would you describe your relationship to sports? That's a really interesting

question because I feel like as an academic who studies sports media, I feel like a lot of us

start out with these childhood stories of sports and how we became fans at a young age, how it shaped our identity, how it created connections with our communities and our families.

And I've been in a lot of situations where I'm around other sports media scholars or sports scholars in general. And that generally seems to be the origin
