and of course, the midterm elections. So as some of you know from our previous coverage,

Alaska is kind of on the front lines of the ranked choice voting reforms. They changed their

system recently, and in August, Democrat Mary Peltollo defeated Republican Sarah Palin in a special election to replace Representative Don Young, who had passed away in March.

Complicating the race was the existence of Nick Begich, another Republican candidate who refused to kind of cede the conservative ground to Palin.
