Well, joining us now is Sheriff Richard Mack is real pleasure to talk to him,

0:10.6

and I wanted to get his take on the things that are happening in Minnesota and elsewhere with ICE.

0:15.4

And, of course, Sheriff Mack has Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association.org, c-spoa.org.

0:25.0

And he's very strong on the role of sheriffs and peace officers under the Constitution.

0:30.9

And Sheriff Mack has been famously involved in Mack versus USA USA challenging the Brady Act.

0:38.1

And remember, Ronald Reagan signed onto that in 1991, but publicly support it.

0:44.1

But it's actually Clinton who signed the law in 1993.

0:48.5

And a key provision of that, which I think is kind of relevant to what we're seeing right now,

0:53.8

is the fact that the

0:55.1

federal law was compelling sheriffs to enforce federal law. And Sheriff Mack pushed back against

1:02.1

that, and the Supreme Court agreed with him. And so that's something that we've seen now

1:06.5

supported many times. People talk about non-commoder. If the federal government has some law or issue that they want to enforce,

1:15.6

they cannot commandeer state law enforcement or offices to enforce federal law.

1:23.9

That was a key outcome of that Supreme Court case. There's also the issue of nullification. So we've got a lot of people out there saying, we want to get rid of ICE. And so I want to talk about all these issues with Sheriff Mack. Thank you so much for joining us, Sheriff. Well, you're welcome. It's great to be back with you. And you always bring back a lot of old memories. Well, that's what

1:45.7

happens when we're old, isn't it? That's all you got is memories. The Mac VUS, you know,

1:52.9

that was my calling card issue. As a matter of fact, it's the only reason you and I know each other.

1:58.4

Yeah, that's right. Absolutely. Yeah, let's talk about your

2:01.3

take on what's happening with Minnesota because, again, I know you and I both know that the federal

2:06.1

government has the authority to enforce immigration. That is a delegated power to the federal

2:12.8

government by the states. And so it doesn't apply to the 10th Amendment protections. It doesn't apply

2:17.4

to nullification issues as well. It doesn't apply to

2:17.7

nullification issues as well. But then in my mind, there's an issue about how the law is going
