Summary

In this episode, David sits down with Bhavik and Suhani, a first-time buyer couple who beat the odds and bought a home in one of the most expensive markets in the country. They share the strategies that helped them overcome fears of high monthly payments and why getting clear on their goals changed everything. If you're stuck in the rent trap and terrified that buying will cost you thousands more per month, this episode is for you. Bhavik and Suhani didn’t just guess or hope—they ran the numbers, educated themselves, and made confident decisions with the help of their unicorn real estate team.

You’ll hear how Suhani used open houses to learn what she actually wanted in a home, why Bhavik found peace of mind sitting down with a trusted agent, and how their mindset changed from overwhelmed to empowered. They even considered creative strategies like house hacking to make the math work.

This story proves that even in high-cost areas, preparation and perspective can help you buy smart.

Quote: "I just started going to open houses. That helped me figure out what I really wanted." - Suhani

It's Bavik and Suhani, and they bought a home of Virginia, and they're so want to make sure

they get you the right information that we've already talked before I hit the microphone

about what their biggest tip was an aha moment. So go for it. You rehearsed it. Come on. Give us the answer. Yeah, I think for for me, it was probably once we like got connected with our, I guess, as you mentioned, like unicorn team, uh, real estate agents that we sat down in their office and they laid everything out. You know, going into it, I was a little bit nervous about all the different steps and I'd

listen to the podcast and all that. But, you know, once you have someone that is equipped to handle all that and lays everything out in front of you, I was like, all right, this is like, we can go and, like, we can go and get this basically. So that was it for me. I think for me it was more actually just starting to look at houses.

1:11.2

Like I think it's overwhelming to think about just starting to look at houses. Like,

1:28.5

I think it's overwhelming to think about like, what kind of house do I want? What do I want this? And

1:32.4

real estate agents ask you that. But I think once, like, when we were early in the process, I was like,

1:37.4

I'm just going to go to a bunch of open houses. And I'm just going to see a bunch of houses that

1:40.5

are like vaguely in a general price range that I could be thinking of just to start seeing because then immediately you're like, I don't like this, I don't like this, I like this, I like this, I like this. And I think that helped us eventually narrow down to the house we actually ended up choosing. Wow, those are awesome because I mean, just in a little bit of time that we've talked already, you know, I know your unicorn. We sat and we talked a lot about
