Tildesley. Dr. Joyce Tildesley is a renowned Egyptologist who has published many books on their

society and great figures within ancient history. Dr. Tildesley has appeared on the podcast before

when she discussed her book Nefertiti's face and the history of the late Amarna period.

Now I am pleased to welcome Dr. Tildesley back to the history of Egypt podcast to discuss her new

book, Tutankhamun, Faro, Icon and Inegma. This book, published in 2022, explores the life and legacy

of Tutankhamun as a king of Egypt. The book explores what we know about his life and his reign

and of course the legacy of his tomb, that monumental discovery and the influence it has had.

I'm fine, thank you. Thank you for inviting me back. Here it's early in the morning with

we're on the other side of the world and it's cold and damp and it's really nice to be talking about

Tutankhamun. So you are currently in the middle of your press junket for the new book Tutankhamun

Faro Icon and Inegma and at the time we're recording this the anniversary on the 4th of November,

just past a few days ago. Are you sick of talking about Tutankhamun yet?

Not sick of him, no, but there has been a lot of it, certainly on the actual anniversary day. I

think I did 10 radio broadcasts so it became a bit difficult to remember what I'd said to whom
