Hey guys, welcome back to Young Hertics Conversations.

This is our interview series. It's relatively new, but I've been enjoying it so much.

This is an opportunity for me to sit down with people and chat with them about where they put their hope, what sort of enterprises or indeed literary

ventures are they going on that seem hopeful.

We're in a moment, I think, of real turmoil, real crisis and I've written about this in my book

How to Save the West, Ancient Wisdom for Five Modern Crisies, but I'm really always looking for people that are aware of these crises, engaged

with them, not desensitized to them, but trying to do stuff in the world that can

re-infuse the world with the classical principles that we talk about

weekly on the show.

So while I'm going to

you, I reconnect with the canon and offer it to you

as the classical education you didn't know you were missing.

I don't just want to be one of those shows that's all about how

everything's going wrong in Doom and Gloom and everything's

falling apart.

And I don't also want to indulge in nostalgia, in looking backward, in trying to turn back

the clock.

We live in the 21st century world that has you know quantum mechanics in it and

Einstein's theory of relativity and all of these new things that are going on

including the turmoil that were facing and in such moments of crisis the West does not turn the clock backward the rest the West is

Reborn. It's a kind of renaissance that we're looking for and I'm looking for people that can

collaborate with me on that and my guest today is really perfect for that
