I'm Katie Rich.

I'm coming to you from the Toronto International Film Festival,

where I have seen so many movies over the past couple days.

And one of them was dumb money, the movie from Craig Gillespie,

about the GameStop stock frenzy, which happened in January of 2021.

And I lived through that, obviously, but didn't remember it all that well.

And this movie is an incredibly entertaining.

And at some points, rage-inducing look at the income inequality that made something like this happen.

It played, it opened on Friday night in Toronto, played really great for the crowd.

It's about to come to theaters, so everyone's going to get a chance to see it.

And I really liked talking to Craig about threading together this massive story,

and about some of the choices that they made that are surprising.

And I think make it so interesting, including casting Seth Rogan as a hedge fund guy,

who maybe you should hate, but if it's Seth Rogan, he's less hateable,

and that makes it more interesting.
