0:58.4

all right yeah thank God Ben's got a new book outlines and scavenges the true

1:01.8

story of America very interesting read you define the lion is people who

1:06.8

uphold biblical values individual responsibility and moral duty yes and you contrast them with scavengers who you say demand entitlement, blame systemic oppression, and lack purpose. Expound on that. Sure. So I think the basic division is not a right-left division. In the book, I actually tried really hard not to turn it into a right-left division because I don't think that it actually is. And I think it's also an internal battle inside our own heart that we get up in the morning and you have to decide

1:29.9

when you face down the problems of the day, whether you're going to be somebody who takes responsibility, does your duty, gets out of bed, and actually decides to do something meaningful in the world, or they can be somebody who looks at the problems in your life, blames some sort of shadowy system and then complains about that.

1:44.8

None of that is to claim that, you know, there aren't systems that... in your life, blames some sort of shadowy system, and then complains about that.

1:45.0

None of that is to claim that there aren't systems that exist that are bad and that need to be fixed.

1:50.0

But you need evidence and you need actual correctives to those systems in order to actually

1:53.0

practically fix those systems.

1:55.0

So the contrast that I'm making here is between people who decide that they want to build,

2:00.0

create social fabric, be innovative, be risk takers, and people who simply want to tear down. And you see, you know, for example, in some of these college protests, people who are marching together who have nothing in common except that they just don't like the system. And they don't even have a replacement for the system. It's just that the system itself must be to blame for all of their problems. That's sort of the basic contrast. I'm sorry, I know we just jumped out the window. For people that don't know who Ben Shapiro's, let's start from the beginning. Explain to people who Ben Shapiro is and where you start, where you came from, et cetera, so they know who you're listening to right now. My basic job is that i'm co-founder of the daily wire which is

2:44.7

conservative podcast in the country and you know my my sort of early beginnings where i grew up in
