Today I'm joined by writer and historian Jane Gullerford Lowe's, who is the writer of the upcoming book, The Invisible Campaign, Bomber Command, Gardening Operations, 1940 to 1945, which will hopefully be out in January 2025.

Very well, thank you. It's great to be here, Wesley. Thanks for having you on the show.

I first heard of you by listening to your excellent podcast about how great the damn busters were and how that's all that the RAF did during the war.

It's been a real to listen to you. Can you talk just a little bit before we get in about your book, about your podcast?

Yeah. So I am the producer and co-host of a podcast called Nevermind the Dam Busters, along with historian and academic James Jeffries.

I alighted upon the idea of a bomb a command podcast right about a year ago.

I was watching something on World War II TV, actually, and they were going into various

different aspects of bomber command's work, and there was just so much to talk about.

And I thought, why hasn't anyone done a Bomber

command podcast? So I thought, oh, that person could be me. So that's where I got the idea.

But the concept behind it is really to do with the fact that, well, I don't know what it's like

in the States, but certainly in the UK where I'm from, whenever you mention bomber command,

everyone always just says, oh yeah, the dam busters, yeah, right? And Lancaster bombers, yeah, right. And I was like, well, actually, that was like one night in like, of the course of like six and a half years or whatever. There's so much more to bomber command than the damp coasters. Yes, it was a miraculous raid. Yes, they were incredibly brave. Yes, it was fantastic technology at the time. But there's so much more to
