Today I'm joined by Jenny Grant, the editor of The Price of Victory, Memoir of the Commander of the First Polish Armored Division, which is the memoir of General Stanislav Machek.

Jenny, how's it going this morning? I saw a social media post that made it seem like this book is selling better than expected.

No, it absolutely is. It's one of those where you launch it onto the market, you know, the memoirs of a Polish general,

you know, launched sort of 70 years after it's written.

And, you know, I think the publishers were a little bit wary about how it might sell,

but it's doing so well.

I mean, I've been promoted it shamelessly to all of the descendants of the first Polish armour division.

But the big hope with it was that it was sort of branch out into sort of British Western understanding of the Polish contribution.

Because that's, you know, if you brought up Polish, that's with Mother's Milk is that nobody appreciates us.

So yeah, that's kind of the thinking behind bringing it out is that people would get much better sense of, you know, what it is

that Poles did and how it was a different perspective for them compared to the Brits or the Americans

say. Yeah, in all the Polish contributions, especially what we're about to talk about today,

are so interesting because often they start in Poland and then they migrate to Western Europe.

And so it's a really interesting journey, I think, for a lot of these men.
