Without further ado, let's jump into the interview.

Okay. Let's jump into the interview. So the Battle of Midway took place about six months after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

But even in that short time, the two navies and the overall situation in the Pacific was changing pretty rapidly.

Could you talk a bit about how both navies had spent those six months?

Yeah, I sure will, Wesleyan. Thank you for having me back to talk about Midway.

I know people are usually quite interested in that battle.

So like you say, it was a busy six months between Pearl Harbor and Midway.

As far as the Japanese were concerned, Pearl Harbor wasn't their main effort. It was actually an effort to secure the resource areas of Southeast Asia.

So they sent most of the combined fleet to do just that.
