Summary

via Off-Guardian.org: The latest Independent Media Alliance panel discusses the principle of free speech and what exceptions (if any) should be made to this principal, including the age-old fire in a crowded theatre argument and the supposed hate speech exemption. They also tackle growing threats to free speech from both sides of the aisle in the wake of the Charlie Kirk assassination and how the right is embracing their own version of cancel culture.

Obviously, I think everyone here very passionate about. But even within this group, I mean, I don't know for sure, but I argue there's probably variances on where we think that should be. And that's the whole point to the conversation today. Obviously, this has become very, very relevant for a lot of different topics we could discuss throughout this conversation. For me, it's sort of like going back to the fire in a theater point and or even today with the idea of political violence being, what I kind of argue is the hate speech, you know, violence is a thing, you know, speech, but it's the overlay to it.
