Welcome, friends, James Corbett here, corporate report.com. And as you know, we are exploring different

0:15.9

social media alternative platforms in this series that I'm doing for Corbett Report, where we are looking

0:22.1

for different ways of connecting and sharing and being together online without being

0:26.7

herded into centralized controlled platforms that we know are being monitored, surveilled,

0:32.2

and censored in various ways. So I'm out there looking for alternatives, and one of them

0:37.4

that I've come across that

0:38.5

has been talked about quite glowingly by some people is yours.org. And today we are honored to be

0:44.7

talking to the CEO of yours.org, Ryan X. Charles. Ryan, thank you for joining us today.

0:49.9

Thank you very much for having me, James. All right, so let's start with the 30-second elevator pitch.

1:19.6

And secondly, we're interested in improving the quality of content.

1:23.6

By incentivizing people to create high quality content, by getting them paid, we

1:29.9

improve the quality. So we're interested in those two things, getting people paid and improving

1:34.3

the quality of content on the internet. So how and why did you come to start this project?

1:40.5

So I came to start it really originally because I became interested in Bitcoin a long time ago,

1:47.0

way back in 2011. And I was sort of an early enthusiast about Bitcoin. And way back then,

1:55.0

there was a project called Whitcoin, which was basically like Reddit but with Bitcoin. And so

2:00.0

they had a very similar idea way back then.

2:03.6

Fast forward a little while.
