Summary

Welcome to this special episode of the China Compass Podcast, #28 in the weekly “Prison Pulpit” series! I'm your China travel guide, Missionary Ben. You can follow me on X (@chinaadventures) where I post daily reminders to pray for China (http://PrayforChina.us). To learn more about our various ministry endeavors and to get any of the missionary biographies I’ve published, visit www.PrayGiveGo.us!

First, I want to remind everyone why I started this second weekly podcast within China Compass. I want to encourage people to pray for Pastor Wang Yi (and others like him, as Hebrews 13:3 teaches us) by sharing from his own words and sermons. We’ve also looked at sermons from Richard Wurmbrand.

But today I’m taking a break from Richard Wurmbrand’s Sermons in Solitary Confinement, to talk about what happened to me exactly 7 years ago, when I was arrested and interrogated in China.

Specifically, after recounting my memories for a bit, I want to share some thoughts on how to pray for others who may someday find themselves in a similar situation. For instance, if you know someone is going to be undergoing intense questioning or interrogations related to their testimony or ministry, here are some specific things (from one who has been in that very situation) to pray for:

  1. Pray for clarity of mind (and wisdom)
  2. Pray for boldness (against fear and worry)
  3. Pray for family (who may not know what is going on)
