So Richard, let's maybe start on the question of why the Trump administration carried out the abduction of Venezuelan and the first lady Celia Flores at this particular moment in time.

So there seems to be a lot of

different factors at play. Some of them more long range, such as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's

rabid anti-communism, the desire, especially on the part of Stephen Miller to create a pretext for

mass deportations of Venezuelans from the United States,

and then there's Trump's openly expressed desire to control the country's oil. In that vein,
