Rebecca was doing something that I've noticed over the years in helping other people have dialogue about race, particularly other white people,

is that constant questioning, because when we spend so much time thinking about the right language to use, the right jargon, the right definitions, which is where everybody always wants to start, just tell me what to say, tell me what to do, tell me how to act.

That's not relational, you know?

And so then we get so fixated on doing

what we think is the right thing

that we aren't building relationships.
