Hey, Deserving Listeners, today's episode is going to be a deep dive on interpersonal therapy.

0:06.2

And this episode is going to be for patrons only. So if you want to listen to this, you have to

become a patron of the podcast on patreon.com. So for years now, I've been calling myself an interpersonal

0:19.8

therapist. I mean, really, when people ask me what theory I use, I've been calling myself an interpersonal therapist. I mean, really, when people

0:23.1

ask me what theory I use, I'll say, well, I integrate several theories. You know, I integrate

0:28.9

many, many theories, actually. I love theory, and I find that most, if not all theories, have value.

0:37.1

And I find that each of them addresses a

And it started to frustrate me because I thought,

1:48.0

have I been calling myself something that isn't true this whole time?

1:52.0

Have I been advertising myself as something that's false or simplistic or something?

1:58.0

And I found that the word interpersonal in the field of psychotherapy

2:02.3

gets used in a lot of different ways. And at a certain point, I started to get really discouraged

2:08.5

as I was working on this deep dive. I started thinking, how do I talk about something that I'm not

2:15.9

that into, but I'm supposed to act like I'm that

2:18.1

into? And then I started looking into it further, and I started realizing that actually there's a
