| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the Total Soccer Show and I'll look back over the international break. |
| 0:25.2 | Yes, we brought you all the USMNT coverage and now we're looking at the Euro 2024 playoff, |
| 0:30.9 | some of the big talking points from the biggest friendlies and some of the big storylines that took place on the international stage. |
| 0:38.4 | My name's Ryan Bailey, gruesome-to-sum today, joining me, Graham Ruff and hello, Graham. |
| 0:43.0 | Hello, Ryan. How are you? Are you looking forward to talking about your favourite thing in the whole wide world, the international break? |
| 0:48.9 | Not just any old international break, but an international break full of friendlies. I know you're a big fan. It's wonderful. It's been a wonderful couple of weeks, Graham. I've enjoyed it very much indeed. It's up there with Timo Verna on my list of soccer. Oh, right. Wow. As high as that. Not quite as high as Jojo Kealini, but as high as Timo Verna. He's a different, he's a different. He's on a different skill altogether. We don't joke about Kealini, frankly. I do. I do. We don't joke about that. But how have you felt about this international break? It's the last one of the European season, obviously, and the last big break before Euro 2020. | 1:27.5 | so the last chance to see |
| 1:29.4 | a lot of these teams in their tune-ups |
| 1:31.3 | before the big tournament in Germany. |
| 1:34.0 | Yeah, personally for me it wasn't a great |
| 1:35.6 | international window by virtue of Scotland being |
| 1:38.3 | really, really bad. |
| 1:39.6 | We'll talk about that a little bit later on. |
| 1:42.2 | I do understand why a lot of people |
| 1:43.5 | don't like this window. |
| 1:45.3 | Obviously, it feels like it kind of breaks up the final stretch of the domestic season, certainly |
| 1:50.4 | in Europe. I do find it interesting in a sense, though, because it is the final opportunity, |
| 1:55.0 | as you mentioned, Ryan, for experimentation before the Euros and the Copa America. But then friendlies |
| 2:00.0 | are just so difficult to judge. |
| 2:02.3 | I'm not sure it does teams a lot of good, |
| 2:05.0 | especially the ones who end up creating negative headlines |
| 2:07.1 | where I'm not sure they're entirely warranted. |
