There are so many important roles in Royal Caribbean, but perhaps no position is as highly

coveted or admired as a ship's godmother.

Every Royal Caribbean ship follows in the maritime tradition of naming somebody to the role

of ship's godmother, and this week, we have the honor of having the godmother of Anthem of the Sea to talk

about her experiences. Emma Wilby, through a contest, was named Anthem's godmother. And in this

episode, we'll discuss the events leading up to her becoming godmother, share stories of her

experiences as the ship's godmother, and talk about what makes Anth anthem of the seas such an amazing cruise ship here we go on board a royal cribbean ship there are lots of fun

and interesting jobs but i think the most intriguing and well downright lovable position has

to be the ship's godmother royal caribbean has a rich history of naming well-deserving women

of all kinds to this prestigious role. And on Anthem of the Seas, Royal Caribbean shows Emma

Willby from Yorkshire, England, to be her godmother. And this week, we are lucky enough to be

honored to have Emma on the Royal Caribbean blog podcast to talk with us about her role as Anthem's

breathing godmother right here. This is awesome. This is obviously a huge role for you. Before we get

there, Emma, let's tell us about the background before you became Godmother of the seas. And,

you know, which Royal Caribbean ships had you sailed on before? What was your history with Royal Caribbean

prior to becoming and even, you know, considering becoming godmother? So my background was

more in broader travel terms. I was actually working as an agent, a travel agent up in the north of

Scotland. My husband is a military man and we'd been posted up to the Highlands where I'd started
