presence in your life well i've been spending a lot of time, just find myself pulled to the books

of Jeremiah and Isaiah. I just, I want to learn from the Israelites, you know, what happened in

their hearts and in their lives and in their culture that compelled God to exile them to Babylon.

And just the fact that God said, you know, as consequence for your sin,

you are being exiled, but I'll be with you there. And then he said, and I'm making a way back for

you. It's amazing over and over again. He provided time, time again, opportunities to repent,

and they shrug their shoulders at God. Yet he still loved them. He allowed them to feel the consequence of their sin, but said, I've already made a way back.

The love of God, the grace of God just astounds me.

So I started to look at what is it that what are some of the things that they did that angered God?

So one of them was they stopped listening to him.

They said that their hearts had grown hard because they'd stopped listening to God.

What we listen to, who we listen to, affects our heart directly.

So some stop listening to him because of rebellion, others because of distraction.

While it's no different today, some had shrugged their shoulders at God and stopped listening

because they don't want to listen. Others, they're listening to other things. You can only listen to one thing at a time.
