1:01.5	But first, to the conflict in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, where reports say the rebel M23 group have killed the army general leading the battle against them.
1:11.6	Fighting between the M23 and DR Congo's army has intensified since the start of the year.
1:17.4	The rebels have seized control of more territory than ever.
1:21.0	The latest unrest has meant the Congolese President Felix Chisakadi
1:25.2	has cut short his trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos in
1:28.9	Switzerland and is holding urgent security meetings with his top officials. Now to give you a bit more
1:34.6	context on this war, more than 400,000 people have fled their home since the start of this year
1:40.3	alone as M23 make advances on that city of Goma, that's the capital of the North
1:46.0	Kivu province in eastern DRC, and importantly, it's a region that is mineral rich. The fighting
1:52.6	has been ongoing for decades between regional armies and rebels in DRC. It's seen around
1:58.0	6 million people killed since 1998 and more than 7 million uprooted internally.
2:04.2	Many, including the United Nations, argue that Rwanda is backing the rebels,
2:09.5	and this is something that Rwanda denies.
