Fighting between the M23 and DR Congo's army has intensified since the start of the year.

Kivu province in eastern DRC, and importantly, it's a region that is mineral rich. The fighting

has been ongoing for decades between regional armies and rebels in DRC. It's seen around

6 million people killed since 1998 and more than 7 million uprooted internally.
