Welcome to On the Bench. I'm Josh Newberg and I've got Chris Nee and Brennan Sonone

0:16.8

here with me. The team has the day off, but we do not. We are here on the bench to discuss

0:23.7

for the state's second scrimmage of the preseason. The team hit the field yesterday around 7.30 pm.

0:30.5

They went for about two hours, maybe a little bit more. We've been working the phones,

0:35.8

we've been talking to sources. I'll throw to you first, Brennan. What are we hearing coming

0:39.5

out of FSU's scrimmage last night? All right, so first things first. Most important,

0:44.0

no big injuries coming out of the scrimmage. Maybe a couple of guys got dinged up, but nothing

0:48.3

that sounds significant. So that's the first thing out of way. You always want to be healthy coming

0:51.7

out of the scrimmage, right? Let's start with quarterbacks. I don't know how much to get into here

0:56.3

with some of it. So help me navigate through this if you will, fellas. But let's say that

Jordan Travis looked really sharp from what I understand, certainly at his best, improvising and

1:06.0

moving around the pocket, which is a huge surprise. But that makes a few really nice throws down

1:10.2

field from my understanding. And FSU's coach just like what they saw from other quarterbacks,

1:14.6

Choba Purdy, Tate Rotomaker continue a nice couple of days stretch after really struggling

1:20.0

in the first scrimmage to get extensive reps with the ones this week. Something that Mike

1:24.2

Nervell has talked about a couple of times already. So quarterback play, sound like it was pretty

1:29.4

good for the most part. Let's see, DJ Williams is someone who I, excuse me, want to shout out specifically

1:34.3

because he had a really good practice on Saturday. I think he compounded that with a really nice one

1:40.4

on Sunday, Randall Ball, authoritatively caught the ball well out of the backfield. So he's

1:44.4

compounding nice days on top of each other. That's a big development to give FSU a nice

1:48.7

complimentary piece to J. Sean Cobb. We've had a little bit over the last couple of weeks.

1:54.9

Whether it was the shape that he came in to camp at, we heard he dropped a couple pounds
