Welcome to the Sound of Young America, I'm Jesse Thorn.

This episode of our podcast is a bit of an unusual one a month or so ago.

I was invited to present a panel at the Integrated Media Association Conference in Atlanta.

It's sort of a nerd convention for public radio and TV people.

I invited my friend Merlin Mann to join me, he's a public media nut when he isn't writing

for his site, 43folders.com, and three people from Atlanta who I thought could help folks

think about making media for and on the internet.

Chris Jeff Olsen, who runs AdultSwim.com, and then the brothers' chaps who created the

Great Web Series Home Star Runner.

None of these folks was traditionally public media e, in fact some of them were kind of

the opposite of public media e, but I thought they were all full of insight into how to

create something that people care about enough to use on the internet.

This isn't typical Sound of Young America stuff, but since so many folks like you who listen

to the Sound of Young America do creative work or at least aspire to do creative work,

I thought I'd share it because there's a lot to learn from these awesome, awesome people.
