Miami's spring game. I don't know if you want to call it a spring game, spring

scrimmage, final practice session of the offseason for the Miami Hurricanes here.

Once again, it was held at Cobb Stadium. It was a fun atmosphere.

I don't know if, you know, spring games or these type of practices will be much of a thing in the future as these things get scaled back across the country due to paranoia of the portal and NIL leveraging and all that type of stuff. But it was a fun one to be at here,

beautiful day in Coral Gables. And they definitely had plenty of amenities for the fans that were able to attend. So it was once again a good vibe. It was a good vibe last year as well. In terms of

takeaways, Gabby, look, I want to be honest.

Like, I think it's hard to really judge this team right now.

Number one, their starting quarterback, Carson Beck, obviously not available.

He starts throwing on Monday, according to Mario Cristobal.

So it'll be, I'm sure, very light tossing, but that process

starts on Monday. So that's a big piece of the puzzle missing as it relates to 2025. Also,

some of the key playmakers on offense were held out of action here in the spring game with

Jojo Trader dealing with what appears to be some sort

of wrist type of injury. It shouldn't be long term or anything, but he's wearing a cast on

his wrist and probably, you know, has to be in that cast for, I don't know, maybe a month at the

longest. And then Elijah Lofton, who probably is Miami's most dynamic skill player this spring at

tight end with the things they can do with him, lining up at different spots.

So he was held out of action as well.

So that's, you know, that's a lot of playmaking that Miami was without here on Saturday.

So I just want to say on front, defensively, there was also, you know, your fair share of key players, either limited, so barely playing or out.

So Bay and Mesidor, very limited.
