Andrew Downs here with you on a beautiful Saturday evening in the Hawkeyes State as the Iowa Hawkeyes

reclaim the Sighawk trophy and win in Ames 20 to 13 over Iowa State in what was ultimately

a closer game than it should have been than we should have then we would have liked it to be but

hey a winner is a win and you win ugly and that's's just fine by me. It is a Hawkeyes State. Once again,

Iowa hasn't lost in Ames since 2011. And, you know, start a new winning streak here in the

Sighawks series. Two and O are the Hawkeyes win number 200 for Kirk Ferrence.

That's such a cool milestone.

I think 12 of those were at Maine and now 188 of those here at the University of Iowa.

And what an interesting game that was.

I felt great about it up until the very end.

And then it got a little hairy there for a minute, didn't it?

But hey, like I said, you win ugly, you feel okay about it.

This feels perilously close to last year in the last couple of the years, the way that Iowa likes to win games, which is great to win eight or nine games a year and to beat up on

teams that are less skilled than you are. But it does feel like this Iowa team has some of the
