in the Chick-Flee Peach Bowl to Houston. 3824, a fairly sound defeat by the Houston Cougars and judging from the reaction on social media

One that Florida State fans are are not taking very well. I think a lot of them surprised I'm certainly surprised

That Florida State went out there and lost this ball game so

So 3824. Florida State was a 7 point favorite in this game and in the preview podcast which I did a couple

days ago I said look at Florida State plays it the B game it should be able to win and

if it plays its a game I think it'll blow them out.

Florida State didn't do that though.

Florida State's defense brought probably its B-plus game, I would say.

And its offense brought probably its D- maybe a D-minous game.

I'm going to start with some positive first.

Well, yeah, I will.

People are down on this defense for giving up 38 points, and they were all

offensive points scored by Houston, so there's no defensive score to mask that. I'm a big believer though in looking at yards per play because yards per play

tells the tale a lot better than points or total yards does. It's a more consistent measure on a game to game basis. It's a more

consistent measure when you're trying to predict stuff for the future. Florida State held

Houston to four and a half yards per play today. That's despite

Houston being able to run 99 plays, which is the most Florida State faced all
