The training camp portion of Notre Dame's August camp has concluded.

And today we spoke with head coach Marcus Freeman and his coordinator's Al Golden and Mike Dembrock.

There was a jersey scrimmage today. Only one injury to report it was Chance Tucker had a lower leg injury.

So that's the best news coming through that there's only one injury in a heated jersey scrimmage. The offense won their jerseys back. They get to wear blue for practice this season. Maybe that's a big deal as well. 42 to 40 in an odd scoring system, of course, that has nothing to do with 40 points being scored. Marcus Freeman mentioned what he wanted to see was crispness from the offense because it is a new offense installed by coach denbrock denbrook echoed that later and then of course defensively

the perception from the outside is the defense is going to win any scrimmage against the

irish offense and i think that has probably been the case this year so it is good news if if a team

were to win the jersey scrimmage august 17th with the way we have seen things go since,

I believe that offense, it's a good sign of the offense,

is able to pull it out.

Oh, yeah, definitely.

That's the news you want to hear, regardless of what the score is. And, of course, it makes sense to us to see the offense in blue.

It's always been that way.

All of August that threw us off.

So we're not going to be able to see practice moving forward. But that is good news.

Now, Mike Denbrock wasn't quite as thrilled with the outcome of it because even though he knew he was going against a great defense,

led by defensive coordinator Al Golden, he expects to win more than 50% of the snaps.

And the close score would indicate to him that the offense only won about 50% of the snaps and the close score would indicate to him that the offense only won
