Hey guys, it's Candice.

And Kayla and we are directionally challenged.

Yep, we thought we would have it all figured out by the time we were in our 30s.

That's a surprise. We don't.

We don't. Should I say it again? We don't.

And it's okay to not have anything figured out, and that's something that we're learning

day by day, especially with the constant political state of our world.

There is a huge election coming up on November 3rd, and today we have a phenomenal woman

here to discuss that and more with us.

I know Candice and I both feel extremely passionate about voting and making sure your voice

is heard. And I think now more than ever, that is quite possibly the most important thing

we can do. We're sitting down with President of Emerge America, Ashanti Golar.

Emerge America is the only organization dedicated to recruiting and training Democratic

women to run for office. She's also the founder of the Brown Girls Guide,

a community for Black, Brown, and Indigenous women, and girls who are interested in Democratic

and progressive politics. The Brown Girls Guide to Politics is also a podcast, which we're

going to discuss with Ashanti today. But Emerge America specifically is so incredible because

it's specifically raising and elevating women up to run for office. Whether you have experience

or not, and that's the whole point, we giggled like a bunch of schoolgirls when we got the email

in saying that Ashanti was able to make time, we were able to sit down with her without further ado,
