Today's podcast is about the Green Festival in San Francisco.

I attended the Green Festival yesterday.

It's a convention, a conference for green businesses and people working for

environmental causes, social causes, things like that. It was very interesting, and I got a lot of good ideas from it.

So let's get started. Here is today's podcast article.

Yesterday I attended the Green Festival in San Francisco and my head is still buzzing.

This is a good thing, for truthfully I've been feeling quite uninspired lately.

It began last month, when I began to get burned out at my job. I was teaching too many hours and let a few unmotivated students affect my enthusiasm. But that wasn't the only problem. In fact the problem went much

deeper. For several months now I felt a lack of purpose. While I love teaching I

often question just what I'm doing and if it's really valuable. For my part, I do not consider

toful preparation to me meaningful or valuable, nor do I find meaning in helping unmotivated students maintain their visa status in America.

There's nothing wrong with these pursuits, they just don't inspire me.

Even the goal of helping others master my native language is lacking

something. Many tell me this is a noble goal because English is now a global language and therefore I'm helping people learn a skill

that will help them communicate with other people all over the world. The problem is

communication by itself is not necessarily a positive thing.

English can be and is used to market harmful products,

promote harmful political movements, spread the toxic American economic model, and

destroy traditional local cultures.

When I launched Effortless English last month, these thoughts became more powerful and persistent.
